I am an artist and counselor and my husband does the manly work – in construction. We met in May of 2002 when his band performed at a bar I used to watch shows at, The Prince Deli in Knoxville. We flirted with each other very lightly, then he suddenly was gone. Fortunately I had their CD which had contact info inside. After searching for a way to specifically contact him, I did.

I found out that he was in a relationship, but one that was failing. They were amidst breaking up and making it work. I left him alone. Several months later, we started emailing each other again because his relationship with Katrina was over. It took me no time to decide that I wanted to get together with him. We met again for the first time November 30, 2002. we fell in love immediately once we started getting to know each other.

I continued to visit him and stay every other weekend, then every weekend, then I was moving in. He proposed to me in March of 2005. We married June 6, 2006. While we were on our honeymoon, I didn’t feel right. I felt slightly nauseous. When we got home, I took 2 pregnancy tests and I was pregnant!! I confirmed it with a blood test. Yep. preggo.

We had our first child together, a baby boy! He was born January 27, 2007. In my marriage, I acquired 2 step-kids: Alex and Dameion. They are both 15 years old, but not twins….long story. If you really want to know, ask and I’ll tell you privately.

I’m currently trying to build my photography business, making every attempt to become  well-established. I started out doing artistic photography, but decided in 2007 to focus on portraits and weddings  in hopes that I can rely on only that job financially. I am a full-time counselor to 9 teenage girls with dual diagnosis and have been doing that for over 9 years now. After I had Aidan, I decided I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, but couldn’t because of my financial obligations. I have recently (as of December 2008) gotten back into website design. I did it for fun back in the 90s, but now I am making a business out of it. Yes, I am a very busy bee. A woman’s work is never done, and it’s never left undone.

We are planning on moving to Florida -  Bradenton – in 3 years (2012), before Aidan starts school. We have been looking at houses and are trying to find the best area to live in with good schools.  We want to go into this making the best choices we can. As of now, we don’t plan on having anymore kids, even though I’d love to. I just don’t think another baby would fit in our dreams. I’m not trying to sound callous, but we wouldn’t dare bring a child into this world if we couldn’t provide the best for it. Right now we are struggling tremendously with finances. My husband is self-employed and because of the season and the election, his work has decreased greatly. We want to follow through with our dreams and we can do so with just the three of us! You never know….things may change. I know it won’t be like this forever.

So keep on reading!!

A Jill of All Trades

31 year old mother of Aidan, born January 27, 2007. Wife to a music man and tattoo artist on the side. I blog about everything under the sun and don't care if I offend anyone. Hopefully I can put a few stitches in your side.
I love music, fashion, tattoos and web design. Without those things, I'd feel lost. I always want more, more, more...like Billy Idol says. More fashion, more music, more tattoos.

AND....I am not the same person who owns jillofalltrades.com nor am I affiliated with her. My web design business is known as The Design Parlor.
